We in St Senans GAA want to show our support for the Milford Care Centre so our Intermediate football team are asking you to donate to our “St Senans Blast to Croker and Back” fundraiser.
On Sunday, May 3rd we as a football team plan to run the distance from our GAA field in Foynes to Croke Park and back again That’s a total of 486km
We will be strictly following the social distancing rules and guidelines and will rely on each member of the team to run sprint or walk as much as they can while always keeping and obeying the social distancing rules. This will be a virtual run to Croke Park and back with the distance covered by our football team at various locations throughout the county.
As we all struggle with the threats of the Coronavirus that is spreading through the world we can forget that there are many other people within our community who are suffering from various life-threatening illness.
Milford Care Centre located in Limerick aims to provide the highest quality of care to patients or residents, family and friends, both in the areas of palliative care and services to the older person.
All our lives have been touched in some way by the expert care offered at Milford Care Centre be that through the illness of family or friends.
During the last few weeks of this national lockdown, we are more aware than ever that places like Milford have been unable to raise vital funds in order to ensure that it continues to offer the highest possible care to all its patients.
We know we are in uncertain times at present but are asking you to give what you can to help ensure Milford Care Centre continue to be in a position to offer world-class care to the most vulnerable people in our society

The 2019 U13 Birney Madigan memorial Inter Parish Tournament hosted by St Senans Bord na nOg
The Birney Madigan U13 memorial Inter Parish Tournament will be played in a round robin format that will take place at the GAA pitch in Foynes on Friday 31st of May at 6pm.
Birney Madigan 1930-2013
St. Senans Bord Na nOg are delighted to host the annual Birney Madigan Parish Tournament. The late Birney Madigan was one of St. Senan’s finest footballing sons. He was just 17 years of age when St. Senan’s G.A.A. Club was founded in the Spring of 1947, in a parish of a golden age where Gaelic football was about to commence and the “Bowen” was going to play a huge role. Bernie in fact became the dominant player of the 1950’s era with his exploits now legendary.
The Bowen had it all – great footballing skills, jinking feet, quick hands and a football brain ahead of his time. He could mix with the best, the toughest and the hardest. He possessed an amazing leap and could field much taller opponents at his ease. In any given match he would score spectacular points from play and from placed ball opportunities. Players who played with him always marvelled at his amazing long kick which was deadly accurate. The St. Senan’s team of the 1950’s won may trophies, but winning the County Junior Title in 1953 was often regarded as their best and Bowen Madigan captained his club in their 0-6 to 0-4 victory over Pallasgreen on that day.
It is a fitting tribute to Birney, that the Parish tournament brings together our young stars from all corners of the Parish for a feast of football which Birney himself would have thoroughly enjoyed. We hope that all who participate enjoy the tournament and take fond memories of lining out for their local community.

St Senasn GAA would like to extend our greatest thanks to Vincent Kelly and all the team in his Costcutters shop for their kind sponsorship of the Feile 2018 team.
#Vincent and the team will ensure that each player gets a zip top tracksuit bottoms and gear bag for their trip. As you can appreciate this is a massive cost and are delighted and lucky to have the Kelly family on board. This is one of many various sponsorships they have given the club down through the years.
On behalf of the club, the players and the parents thank you and remember to shop local as these and many other local business are what make this parish and community a great place to live. We hope to have a little presentation in the coming weeks with photos of the Feile team and any sponsor willing to come on board and help out with this event.
